I've never done this much support on a web dev project in my life!

80% support 20% code? WTF??

How can I bring this issue to the attention of my managers and get them to implement proper processes to negate this? We did a release last night and all hell broke loose.

You bring it to their attention? rofl.

Reminds me of a memory leak i had in my app a few weeks ago, i couldnt figure out why our server with 64gb of ram was throwing memory errors:P

Plan properly? Hire testers and trainers and leave the poor web dev to do development only?

Oh, I'm sorry. you were serious?

if it is that bad take it down, fix the issues then put it live. if you cannot get figure heads to sign off get them to answer support calls for a day.

LOL, guess im just lucky then:D

20% is pretty good. I do about 10% support, 10% dev, 80% admin. Which is expectation from a more senior role and why I'm leaving.

er not to be the self serving product pimping sales guy but its things like this that made me create devscore.. nothing worse than applying for a job thinking x is going to happen and then actually finding out your expectations were wrong.

last job i left due to meetings all day that were mandatory attendance but had nothing to do with my day job.

Link? I'm always interested in testing out new pieces of software. Couldn't find you on google either (except for some .azure type site - which wasn't responding either).

I am sure there is a relevant Dilbert cartoon strip that you can send to your managers
