Hi All,

It is time to replace our trusty A4 Mono. Anyone have any suggestions as to a replacement (Requirements: UTP, Duplex, reasonable cartridge prices, R2000-R3000)?

Anyone familiar with after-sales support for OKI in South Africa?

I saw Game running specials on Ricoh printers meeting your requirements. Maybe go check them out.

OKI make good SOHO workhorses, the B410n is good value for money.

One advantage is the separate toner/drum design, this makes for lower running costs. Toner is good for 3,500 pages and when it finally calls for a new drum (+/- 25,000 pages) it's best to buy a new printer given the cost.

Never had to send one in under warranty and we have quite a few with clients.

I've had an OKI laser at home for years and works well - the individual OEM replacement toners are a bit expensive, but found that filling them myself is much cheaper - you cannot refill the toner cartridges that originally come with the printer, so need to shell out on at least 1 original replacement set - then use a decent replacement toner and some resets from ebay.

Brother is also good, agree to steer clear of Samsung.

As mentioned, look at the toner/drum replacement costs first before making a decision.
It also depends on the number of prints you will be making daily/monthly? Don't go for a cheap-a$$ printer with a low volume output if you're doing medium/high volume prints, as you'll end up with issues...
