New ADSL Line - Phone dead

Hey everyone...

Quick question. I've had my telkom line installed about 2 weeks ago. I ordered my ADSL line, and I was told that ADSL wil be instaled today. Okay, so last night, my phone line was dead.....Could this be that they've already connected me to the DSLAM? My telephone, siemens cordless phone, has no dial tone...Do I need to get the filter before getting a dial tone? Or do you think there's something wrong with the line? I'm getting my modem/router tomorrow, so I cant test if the router can connect to the internet...

there is something wrong with the line. you only need a filter connected if you have a adsl modem/router connected to the line at the same time as the phone. phone telkom and log a fault with your phone line.

Only ever had a noise coming through on my line when I had no filter - phone still worked...
