I don't have a Telkom phone line and want to get ADSL. Is it possible to have the ADSL and line installed at the same time or is there are least a way to ensure that I can get ADSL when ordering?

[I don't really want the phone line but can already see that I'll be told I can't get ADSL after installing the line]

Is it possible if you get the right techie. My techie was able to get the cable department guys out at the same time and the whole job was done one time.

Go to a telkom shop.. reading other forumites posts seem to indicate it helps. Also they'll be able to help u about getting it done at the same time. Keep phoning them and asking wats up.. it seems to be the only way to get any sort of service in this country

A good way to make sure it to find somebody you know who's on the same exchange as you and get their number. Then go here to find out if the exchange is ADSL enabled:

If it is then you can order your line, but you definitely need the line for ADSL.

Good idea, I'll get the neighbour's nr and check it up.
