So I just got a mail from one of my suppliers. Here are the specs:

AMD X2 3600+
Socket AM2
2000MHz
2 x 256kb cache (the 3800+ is 2 x 512kb cache)

I'm selling them for R1210...

LOL @ Dual Core Sempron

Well, I havent heard of this 1,8GHz one except the Opterons (but i think they are 1MB)...

Oh, noticed something else, they say its max TDM is 65W, so that makes it one of the energy efficient ones, so should run very cool and hopefully overclock like hell...

I'm looking at todays Axiz pricelist and I see nothing, more info please...
sorry, i was lying, it's sahara that has it

on sahara's pricelist the 3600+ has 256kb cache per core and runs at 2Ghz, while on Rectron's it has 512kb cache per core and runs at 1.8Ghz

did a search for 3600+ and came up with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon_64_X2 where they say the 3600+ has 256kb cache per core, on this page: http://www.shopbot.com.au/p-22499.html some stores list it has having 512kb cache and running at 2Ghz, some say it's 256kb and 1.8Ghz, all in all, kinda confusing

EDIT: on sahara's pricelist the 3600+ has a product code of ADA3600CUBOX, while at rectron it has ADO3600CUBOX, gonna do a quick search on those codes. well can't say for certain what the correct specs is, both searches came up with 2Ghz parts with 256kb cache.

Gonna phone rectron tommorow and confirm the cache and clockspeed of that processor.

amd cpu's, which is more of a killer?

Hello people, I'm a newbie here and to amd. I want to build a new Amd Pc(gaming) and I need some help choosing one of two Amd cpu's.

I'll let you in on my old pc specs, but pls dont laugh,

Basically,
1. Celeron D @2.4 Ghz, Asrock M/B, 768 mb ram, Dvd/cdrw combo, nvidia Fx 5200 128mb agp card. As you can see this aint for gaming

So I'm building a new PC

which of these two Amd cpu's is faster or better for heavy gaming,

1. AMD® Boxed Athlon™ 64 3800+ Processor - 2.4GHz Socket 939 512K 2000MHz HT 90nm AMD64

2. AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 3800+ 1024K L2 Cache 2.0GTs Socket 940 2000MHz

brawler help me buddie hahahha

when i run a virus scan on my dual core it still slows my pc down :(

its like ive got a single core haha

what anti-virus?
have you tried setting the affinity?

Some anti-virus app's are hdd intensive so its probly not your cpu :)
and it might take a willl to filter those 160GBs of pron

Nah, thats not worth it...I'd rather go for something with more power...firtst need to upgrade my mobo, but I'm waiting for AMD's answer to Intel's Core2Duo!

PS. are you allowed to advertise?

You might as well, supersunbird basically does it all the time.

I would think you technically shouldn't though, but if its to help people out on the forum (like sunbird) then go ahead.

Well, yeah it is sort of advertising, but its more to inform the people of the new processor and giving a pricerange that it resides in. :)
