First of all, you can go back to do low level "quests". There are generally two types. Dynamic events and hearts. Hearts you don't repeat, and dynamic events you can. The dynamic events often appear as orange circles on your map, usually as you get close to them.
You can go to other Race starter areas. Two ways of doing this, besides walking there which will get you killed
Go to your home city and look for the Lions Arch purple portal. Go through it, and you will see the other Race gates. Before you go to another Race city, explore Lions Arch. There is another way to get to Lions Arch. Press h to get to your hero screen, and on the last tab there is a go to the mists PvP option. Take that and run through the starter area to the steps on the other side. Once in the next zone, you can see the Lions Arch portal.

If you wish, join a guild, for example the Southern Legion,

Your guildies can help you with info and join up with you.
Don't forget that you can complete all the tasks in a certain zone, such as skill points, hearts, and points of interest. Open your map to see how many are incomplete. Completing a zone gives experience. Also do your daily events. Open your hero screen to see your progress.
Crafting can also net you lots of experience.
