New AppleTV in SA?

Does anyone know if the new AppleTV is coming to SA stores and would there be any reason why the AppleTV wouldn't work in SA if u had a US iTunes store account and a fast enough connection to stream movie content?

Has anyone with the current AppleTV streamed rented movies from the iTunes store?

I see the AppleTV isn't even advertised on the AppleZA site...
 
It would work and it'll probably be here soon. A guy I know rents movies on iTunes, with his AppleTV. It works, on 4mbps uncapped.
 
Yip, highly doubt it will be "officially" launched here because the official ZA iTunes store doesn't support movies / TV programs yet. Best bet is to bring over yourself ;)

For $99 I will be making a plan to get one over here. Not only for renting and all but the video and picture streaming from iphone/ipad when ios4.2 comes out. I'm sure aTVFlash will also be developing something for the AppleTV2. Maybe streaming from a Time Capsule which i think can be done on the current aTVFlash software if i'm not mistaken?

You right, would be awesome for streaming from your Mac or iPad - especially at that price :D
