New bargain website: Bargains24

Joined the site!
Honoured to be a top 5 deal hunter, if I could have a R100 voucher from Loot please!

The deals list on bargains24 needs to be more succinct and compressed, I suppose like the Hardware bargains thread on Mybb, just a short blurb on what the item is, perhaps why its good quality/worth buying and a link to buy it.

consider adding a field to insert price (or price range as well) this way you don't need to insert this into your subject, and you can create a search based on price range (this helps when searching for deals if you have a price range say a secret santa etc).

Great! I'll organise your Loot voucher soon.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah we originally had about half the text that is currently viewable from the deal list but when we applied to ad networks they wanted more text visible. That said there is some wasted space that we'd like to eliminate in the future so people can see more deals at one time.

Good suggestion thanks.
We will be implementing a feature request voting system in the future so the community can suggest and vote on what they want the platform to do next. After all you guys are the ones using it.

I'll keep both your and airborne's suggestion on file for when we launch it :)

Just be wary. A Camel is a horse that was designed by committee"

Keep in mind the user experience is everything, if navigating the site to view the available deals of the day takes too much time/jumping through hoops people rapidly lose interest. The Internet is so chockablock with things vying for our attention that one experience can be enough for the site to be discarded and only rechecked if other users sincerely recommend it again.

Forget how it looks it must just be amazingly well optimized to do the job intended and do it well. If it looks good after that fact then you have a winner on your hands but that should not be the end goal.

Forums for instance generally look like schit, drab/uniform/bland but they do their intended function perfectly.

Great saying, I'll definitely remember that one and keep it in mind. I like this cartoon from Steve Krug's book "Don't Make Me Think". He calls web design meetings religious debates. So true.

Totally agree. You've just got to look at the most visited page in the world, Google search, to see that the flashy design stuff is not necessary. We spent the vast majority of our effort on functionality. Hopefully it shows!

Each deal takes up too much space I reckon.I can only see one deal on a page before I have to scroll. You need to make it smaller imho.
