New base stations for October

Got a mail from iBurst and these are the following new base stations scheduled for October:

Hatfield, Pretoria

Garsfontein, Pretoria

Moreleta Park, Pretoria

Pretoria North :D

Woodmead, Jhb

Kempton Park, Jhb

Green Acres, PE

Pietermaritzburg

Hartebeespoort

Rustenburg
 
NOOOOOOO.... what the hell are they doing. Great for Pretoria, okay they need it. but a guy from iBurst told me the Constantia tower was going up "this friday" about three months ago.

its even already on the Cape Town overall coverage maps. So its not even going to be done by October :(

Aah well, I guess its just priorities, nothing I can really complain about. except that the guy should have lied to me if it was going to take another 5 months, and not 1 day like he said.

EDIT: Oh its actually quite an impressive list, nice work iBurst. And by the way, the George tower (Place near CPT) is also apparently going up in about 3 weeks, theres already a salesman from iBurst in the town etc.
 
Well here on this side of Cape Town things are pretty dead

Finally, Moreleta Park gets a tower! Great news for me! It's not that my connection is bad (700kb/s), but a tower in my area will surely boost it!!! CHEERS TO IBURST! :D
 
EHV...I feel the flippen same way about this! Woodmead has been showing on the website's Network Status page since I joined iBurst 5 months ago! If there is a new one, please can anybody tell me where it is, I'd like to go and attach my UTD to it and just get a LAN cable from there to my house. Maybe, just maybe then I'll be able to get the speed I really want!

Now, on a serious note, where's the tower?
 
Haha, and you compare this to Sentech whose network hasn't expanded AT ALL in 2 years. Good for iBurst!
 
Well you can try emailing them about it, but you know what happened last time someone tried that...

I think giving Ed a shout should be the best idea. He should be able to atleast vaguely point you in the direction, wouldn't be too top secret would it?

I see Kempton Park is getting a tower.We've had one for going on 2 years now but the tower is saturated. We get a massive decrease in speeds during peak times and my WoW latency is getting worse.The only times i get 300-600ms if from about 23:00 to 07:00 and I used to always get those speeds.

@ Dagegen the current Kempton tower is on top of ARWYP hospital and according to a RF Engineer I spoke to the new one is going to be at Jan Smuts, but only from next year.

I see there is a tower at Van Riebeeck park, maybe that is the new one.

I used to get great speeds with and as I said the service is deteriorating in Kempton Park.I have line of sight to the tower and never needed an antenna but I got one recently and there is zero improvement and the engineer confirmed that there are too many ppl on the tower.

Nothing to do but wait for new towers:(

Don't worry, IBurst is expanding rapidly every month. In fact, they're expanding the most of all the Wireless ISP's. Last month, they put up 10 new towers in PTA, JHB and CPT. This month and next month, there's more to come. :cool:

Wow gg to iburst but here in Northcliff we need a new tower, the one we got here is so overloaded. even on a saturday it has a load of 3(UTtracestar). how many of you guys connect to Northcliff tower?

yeah hopefully the new tower in Van Riebeek Park will take some load off the Current Kempton tower.
i am in the Rynfield area and have no Line Of Sight .... was hoping for a tower in my area ... but hell if the new tower will take load from my current connection tower it would be great.
 
I agree with the fact that they expand with new towers every month (and I'm pleased about that), I'm just wondering why they are repeating themselves...just a quick view over the 'new' towers of last month's email and then again this month's email show PTA - Garsfontein, JHB - Woodmead on both! Are they up, are they not up, what's going on?

All I'm asking iBurst is not to create a market hype over nothing.
 
I agree with Craig our tower is packed the load is always 3 during day and sometimes 2 at like 2 clock in the morning(someone test cannot remember who was on other post) i remember during Christmas holiday when load was low i was getting like 700-900 now i get about 300-500 :(
