Hi folks
Hope this is not a repost.I just purchased a Blackberry Curve 9300 3G today.I have used Nokia for over 10 yrs.
What is the simplist way to copy my contacts over from the Nokia to the Blackberry?
Waiting for my BIS to be activated by MTN,what are good, free useful apps to install?
Looking for streaming radio (5FM,Highveld etc) and some weather apps as well.

Thanks in advance.

copy your contacts to your sim ( or pc)

Write all the details down on a piece/s of paper & then type it in on the BlackBerry.

Agree with kingrob. Ul b a master of the qwerty by the time u done :-)

Btw, did u get it on prepaid? And if so, howmuch did you pay?

Hi

Easiest - load the phone pim software for nokia - sync with outlook.
Load pim software for blackberry, sync with outlook. Some fields may not be copied over but you should get the necessary details.

Other - depending on your nokia, goto m.google.com on your browser for nokia - see if google sync can be downloaded to your phone. (you will need a gmail account for this). Use this software to sync your contacts to the gmail account. Then follow the same procedure on your blackberry. Great thing about this is that you don't have to worry about backing up your contacts - this is done automatically and the next phone you get can then be synced as well - FREE!

Cheers

Hi majikins
Thanks,will try it out.

btw - streaming(radio and youtube) is charged on normal data rates and is NOT covered by the blackberry service.
Mostly correct - I've yet to be charged for TuneWiki streaming though. :)

I had to buy a starter pack but i'm using my MTN contract sim in it.Cost was R1999.

Scweeet! Where did you get it from? If u have a link for this special it would be much appreciated.

Ps. Never been charged using tunewiki either

Copying to outlook is the best way then you contacts are always automatically backed up when you sync your phone.

The Data customer care @ Eastgate (opposite FNB on lower level) has a device to copy your numbers from one phone to your new phone (multi brands supported). Our shop in Eastgate also has one....but its dood soos 'n mossie....so the data centre best bet.

I thought BB messenger could pass your contacts around frrom one BB to the next .... and when you connect your new berry it will drop it off automatically? :p

Thanks everyone for your input.
After using loads of paper and improving my Qwerty skills i have all my contacts on the 9300 :D
Just joking,i used the Blackberry Desktop Software and everythings copied over.
