I've been browsing around here and around the web reading reviews and getting tips on building your own desktop PC. I've come up with the following specs and would appreciate some comments or advice - this is my first DIY build... The cost is around R 10,000 (items below according to Rebeltech) - it will be used for normal day to day computing (accounting, spreadsheets etc.), home entertainment and gaming:

Case - Coolermaster Centurion 5ii / Gladiator 600
PSU - Antec HGC 520W
Motherboard - Intel DP67BG Burrage or DZ68
Processor - Intel i5 2500K
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2 x 2GB 1600 1.5v
GPU - Radeon 6850 - ASUS / Gigabyte / Sapphire
HDD - WD Caviar Black 750GB
DVD - Samsung 223C
Display - Samsung (Not from Rebeltech)

I have budgeted another R 500 for sundry items (Speakers / Keyboard). I'm also considering getting a 40GB SSD (Corsair) for OS and applications. Overclocking might be an option later on. Not really considering SLI / Crossfire.

Let me know what you think...

Nice setup.
Mobo
See if you can find this mobo
BIOSTAR TZ68A+RCH LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Best bang for buck one out there. You can use the money you saved and get the 560ti which performs par with the 6950 but is a bit cheaper.
The psu is fine and the case is a matter of personal choice. So that you decide for yourself

Your other option is if you want to max out almost everygame at 1080p is to swap the cpu for a X4 955be or 965 and the the Gtx 570. That's if your really want it for gaming and want a very good performance.
But in other applications the Intel cpu will outperform the Amd cpu. With video encoding we have the Gpus to help us out luckily where a slower cpu will have more benefit from it.

I would try and avoid intel motherboards. I have only had bad experiences with them

I've read good things about the Biostar TZ68A+ but for the same price you can get a great Asus, the Asus P8Z68-M PRO
