hey guys!

Ok, So I just found out my car has been written off. ( drunk driver at intersection, don't worry I wasn't the drunken driver;))

So I need new wheels..

Couple of things.
aiming to buy for around 50k
are there any decent cars at that value?
is it best to wait till the new year?
what brand suggestion would you give?
millage? what's a good milage?
things i need to look out for?
also probably will be financed... so any advice on how not to get screwed by them?

The old model Chev Aveo with the 1.5 litre SOHC 8 valve motor - Thats the one that doesn't give trouble. Probably looking at the 2005 model for that sort of money. Decent little car that has a couple safety features like ABS and airbags. Won't cost an arm and a leg to buy or to run.

Thats actually not a bad suggestion. Although the engine is somewhat underpowered in the 1.5...and its a Daewoo underneath. I'd suggest something like an old Fiesta maybe. Rather like my Fords.

No point in waiting until the new year. If you can pick up something decent, now, go for it!

PM me if you want to see what we have to offer. I'm in Old Fort Road.

Keeping a close eye on this thread.

Also in the market thanks to a mother-in-law from hell. Long story....

We have a slightly higher budget but also looking into Polo Playa or even the Fiesta.

Would love to pick up a 2002 Toyota Corolla 1.6 GLE but people simply don't sell them and when they are for sale, the mileage is through the roof.
