New car

I know a guy who has a Giulietta on over 60 000kms and no issues yet.

Mine is sitting at 17000km and despite a small gearbox issue, its been perfect.

My bro in law has his with 20000km on the clock and no issues (but he did break his gear knob, lol)

Also, the Alfa has amazing service plans and warranties. Even if something goes wrong its no issue at all. When I took my car to sort out a squeaky seat, they gave me a Fiat 500 to drive for a week. BMW would have told me to find my own way home...especially for a squeaky seat.

At the end of the day, Alfa does have a reputation but so far, they Giuliettas have been trouble free and are backed up with great plans. What can go wrong. And as Mike Hoxbig says, us early adopters took the knock. Buy the Alfa and smile or get the Honda and erm...dont smile? lol

How about spare parts? The Alfa will cost you a lot more long term.

I am not denying that a NA Honda will be cheaper to maintain than a turbocharged Alfa's but Honda parts aren't exactly cheap.. Of course the 1995 Honda ballades are cheap and easy to fix but the new ones are very pricey. R3k per fog light pricey..
Probably on par with that of Alfa.

Hey man, as long as you are happy...

Hey man, as long as you are happy...

lol...You do realise those were minor issues and can happen to any car out there right?

I had a brand new Cooper and it gave some minor issues.

My bro had a GTI and it gave minor issues.

My mate has a 320d and its given some minor issues

Another mate had a Kia Cerato Koup and guess what...there were minor issues.

Do you expect something mechanical to be perfect?

You cant bar a car because of squeaky seat or an aggressive driver and his kung fu grip on the knob (lol). As for the gearbox...replaced entirely. They didnt even bother me with trying to fix it.

I guess there always will be those Toyota drivers who will hate on anything with a bit flair. To each their own I guess. I own a Giulietta and I think its a great car. No one has to buy it but when people ask for advice I give an honest answer. We are well aware of the reputation Alfa has. The Giulietta is supposed to be the car to sort that out. Will it succeed? That remains to be seen...but for now, the Giulietta is an absolute dream...

Easy tiger, that was meant with a :p

Anyway, the Los of the Alfa more than makes up for the minor issues

Be careful there are a lot of Honda Accord 2.0 that are former rental cars. Beware of Honda Midrand

What's up with Honda Midrand? It's probably. The one I'll use when servicing my car.

I'm a huge fan of BMW's but for what you're looking for I'd advise you go for a Golf GTI. It's a brilliant car and VERY good value for money, plus it will kick the 125i in the nuts robot-to-robot ;-)

Lol. It really doesn't
