Dear Telkom

I write this e-mail as to MyADSL as you fell that I’m unworthy to approach you as I’m of a lower intelligent to you. By your actions you have demonstrated how corrupted your mind has become to believe that you have all power. Remember, the previous “regime” who controlled your actions demonstrated the same nature as you do so now, and they certainly came a down with a mighty crash. The Day of Judgment is approaching fast as more and more people who receive the revelation of your salvation of internet access unfolds itself as but a mere lie before their eyes. No matter how much you advertise your candy smeared wonders you are nothing but a deceiver. Remember Dear Telkom that a lie is nothing but truth perverted to suit the liar. How you dare to insult the intelligence of your subjects while proclaiming your riches and then cut them of their inheritance. You will bring damnation to yourselves and you well stand their naked knowing full well why. O! I implore you to turn from your wicked ways and bring happens to those who have placed their hard earned money into your collection baskets. While you comfort yourselves in the riches of your gains we mere mortals must do with the crumbs of the table that the rest of this kingdom has discarded as antiquated and while the mortals proceed to increase their wisdom you with the sly of your hands cut them of and pretend that all is fine and even while the mortals try to continue you cast then into the depth of misery and force your hand for them to switch to other ways that fills your silver bag even more. You are a wicked and perverse tribe. Redeem yourselves, but I fear that been what you are your countenance will remain ever the same. I pray that the promise of salvation cometh quickly so that the mortals may enter into the riches of the Promised Land.

Sounds like big gripes.

Reading through all the posts can tend to make your my blood pressure rise.

Tongue in check fellows. Having read through this site, and I, also an ADSL user, how much more does Telkom need to know that their so called ADSL is sub-standard. Do you all think their not aware of this. Please guys lets get a life. Remember their in it for the money. They care less about us end user's. No matter how much we scream and shout. Just look at Telkom's history, it speaks louder than words. They lie in in the advert, they misled the public. What power do we really have, nothing. There is no other supplier, they control the whole telecom infrastructure. Until such time they relinquish power were nothing but cannon fodder. Also bear in mind this IS A POLTICAL issue. They express words that can be interpreted in different ways. COME ON people, how do the rest get what they want, by mass demonstration, are you prepared do this. They got us pinned to the wall and before u give me lip about been negative there is an answered to this but it requires the WHOLE of SA to stand up together and refuse to pay anything until they come to the table and place meaningful proposals that is overseen by an ombudsman. I commend this site for what’s it doing, but were nothing but a small fish in a hell of a big sea. I do hope that when the doors are opened for other providers to come in that service will improve. My fear though is that they always want a stake in the other company, just look at the cell phone debacle. When there is truly free interprise only then will we see any difference.

Sounds Like you might be working for them
All i can say to u iS WHATEVA!!

Actually I think nigel.soden hits it on the head - it is a political issue.

Where I think he is mistaken is that we have no power:
1. We have a constitunional right to freedom of speech which we may exercise as we wish as long as we do not break the law. Telkom is now listed on a foreign stock exchange. As any public company they are now driven by shareprice. I am not sure how one would go about it - peapod may know - but the right people in the right places rating Telkom negatively would have an impact on their share price....

2. Our consitution also affords us certain rights to access of information - see posts in deregulation forum. We can legitimately make a case not against Telkom but the govt itself if we can prove that the telecommunications act in it's present form is a violation of individual rights....

3. If all else fails we can institute non-violent direct action and civil disobedience, using the tactics of trespass and blockade. This is a rather radical approach but has been proven to work. We have 1st hand experience of the outcome of mass action in this country. Take a look at this link http://www.thing.net/~rdom/ecd/EDTECD.html It makes for interesting reading.

Please note that I am in no way advocating any form of action as indicated in 3 above. I am merely using my right to freedom of speech with regard to this topic and sharing information publicly available on the Internet. [;)]

ASF i am all for that 3rd option, right now we are faceless and without a face we are nothing, we land up on Telkom's doorstep once and the media highlights us, i can promise you things will start to happen. Because up to date i cannot remember this happening to telkom even ONCE. We need to be seen we need to have a voice that extends beyond the thousands of threads on this site. Im sure you can agree with me there somewhere?[8]

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

And I guarantee u -with the third option there will only be a handfull of people showing up...

We just can't seem to stand together like the rest of our African brothers for some or other reason.[V]

They say that nothing Unite people as well as having a common enemy.
We have to give Telkom "credit" here, they have managed to get a bunch of unrelated people to unite, build character, share new ideas for the better of the country [}:)].

Darth Vader - read http://www.thing.net/~rdom/ecd/EDTECD.html

It can be done from behind your pc - isn't the internet wonderfull...
