When trying to access the internet from my new laptop it finds the wireless network connection but when I try to connect I get an error message "Wireless connection failed because the network denied the association request from this computer."

I connected to a number of different network recently with this laptop but I cannot connect to my own home network. I have two other laptops that connect wirelessly with no problem. What is happening? I know this is pretty lame, but can someone point me in the right direction?

Fixed! I had to add the new laptop to the "Access List" at the Netgear Router page at http://192.168.0.1 on the main PC The laptop's MAC address showed there on the "Available Wireless Stations" but not on the "Trusted Wireless Stations". As I recall, this stops others from tapping into your network and bandwidth. I moved it over to the "Trusted" list, rebooted both machines and am now online. (I am posting this to help anyone else who may search for answers to this problem in the future).

i think i have a similar problem, what was the MAC address so I can try it on mine..

Bit out of my depth here, but why would you want the MAC address of my laptop? Isn't it a unique address for each computer? I got it from a sticker on the bottom of the laptop.

To get the MAC address of your PC, go to command prompt, type: ipconfig /all

the MAC address will be listed next to "Physical Address", each network adapted has its own MAC address, so make sure to take the one of the wireless adapter.

Yep, each machine will have a unique MAC address.
