Hey guys , i have just started a new console game trading site that works with a virtual currency called gamegold

Its a simple site that works like this :
  • I buy games from users and pay them in gamegold
  • Gamegold can be bought with paypal
  • Users can then use their gamegold to buy games from the site
  • all games are transported through the post

For a more graphic explanation check This out
Please check out the actual thing here
and pleeeease register here

please let me know what you think

Why not just use regular money? I personally don't want to be tied down to a proprietary currency.

regular money will :
not allow me to pay people much for their games
force me to make a profit on the games i sell which will make the games i sell more expensive
and if i ever do close the site down i will pay people for the gamegold they have

not allow me to pay people much for their games
- But "Gamegold" Means they get nothing at all, and they HAVE to buy games from you with your credit

force me to make a profit on the games i sell which will make the games i sell more expensive
- But every person who buys with paypal will be giving you "Profit" since you incur no costs in the process

and if i ever do close the site down i will pay people for the gamegold they have
- Problem here is that nobody knows you, how can we be sure that you won't just bolt and run? ( Plus, where will the money come from in the end, and what guarantee do we have that the forum will provide what we want to buy with the credit? )

Not to piss on your parade or offend in any way - but i think this concept isn't all that great. The site doesnt look professional enough to start with so i'd feel less comfortable actually transacting on it.

Just my opinion though.

Kinda think its cool. Some one need to give those Bt games a go

This is tough to answer but...

I need people to trust my site first before anything else will work
The more users i get
The more games i will get to sell
The more games i get to sell
The more gamegold will be valued

I get 100% profit on any game gold bought so i will be able to offer games at low prices and since game gold costs me nothing i will be able to pay people a lot for their games

If the site works out i will never close it but if it doesn't i will pay people back from the profit i make and from my own savings

Guys i would appreciate any suggestions to help prove that the site is not a rip off

Guys please give it a try , i will be adding more games tomorrow

I may register and give it a go. Xbox360 collection at 120 odd now. Got a mini library going here :)

My son plays PC mostly now and I only really play COD so perhaps time to move some of the games on.
Will register in the AM

Starting off with virtually nothing on offer is unlikely to be attractive. You also have almost nothing invested, giving the impression you don't fully trust your concept yourself. I suggest taking R100k or so and buying a startup stock.

In that case you are legally unable to enter into a contract of any sort. In any event I predict an early demise.

You also fall foul of this forum's no-under-18s rule.
