New contract without credit refs?

Daughter is recently back in SA after living abroad since school days.

Bought everything cash, car , furniture , clothes and appliances.

Has an excellent job with an above average salary for last 18 months. Plus 18 months rent payments on time.

Part of her perks is a R500/month cell contract payment but she has applied at MTN but Transunion turn her down as she has not credit rating ? Recently opened an Edgars account in desperation.

Any ideas ?

Had a similar problem with getting a cellphone contract. In addition, open a woolworths account which can be used to buy food on credit on a more regular basis than an edgars account.

she would probably have a better chance after 6 months of edgars.

she must buy/repay when possible. never miss a payment. It will start a credit history.
