New Contracts/Retentions - Device Colours

We unfortunately are not able to guarantee what colour cellphone we will receive when an order is placed, sorry for the inconvenience.

Why is this the case when ordering a phone.. e.g the above statement from Nivo.co.za

AutoPage, Cell C Direct etc all do the same thing however... Cannot guarantee you a colour of the device?

Yep none of them can gauruntee a colour, prety much the same when buying in a store, you get what they have in stock,

Difference being, in the store you can see what color you're getting and refuse the article.

I don't get why they don't just label these things like one labels shoe boxes and then keep a couple of each.

they do label it, problem is they want to get the phone to you so they will search the stock on hand for the colour you want but if they dont have the one you want they not going to order just one for you, they normally get a box full off of random colours from the supplier.
Same with shoes (used to work in a shoe store ) you get one carton with a mix mash of different sizes
