Sorry to post another thread about this.

I've fine tuned the issue a little though since the last thread.

The problem is International latency. Local Latency is fine.
Telkom 2Mb(recently upgraded) uncapped - http://prntscr.com/2i21e6
Afrihost prepaid - http://prntscr.com/2i21u9

I used speedtest.net so I can access international servers.
This explains why all my online games are un-playable on the Telkom network.

I called the call center, not to my surprise "uhm I'll send a technician"
Also as expected the technician couldn't do anything and said he will get back to me. Two days later... no word.
Funny though I got an sms the next day saying the issue has been resolved.

Anyyyyways
I asked my friend who lives about 5 km away from me
Kabega > Rowellan Park for those who know Port Elizabeth.
He racked up 620 ms to the same Paris server yesterday.

I can't accept this latency, keeping in mind a week and a half ago it was perfectly fine.
Only thing I can think of is that my line was upgraded around the same time, although I have no evidence that it's related and don' think it is.

So yea, there it is.

It's terrible, and the fact that after over a week of this (or so), we haven't heard a peep from anyone from Telkom (although someone said they got a response on Twitter [they are working on it]).

Pathetic.

Again, MyBB, please revoke the rep accounts if they are not going to be used as such.

Yeah, same story here, reset port , telkom will send out a technician...
Thing is, I've been having this issue since mid-december last year, but only after 6 in the evening, so I thought it was most probably due to congestion. Now it's permanent, until they sort it.

yep bud. I can accept higher latency at peak time, but now it is indeed a permanent issue.
To be honest not even at peak times was the latency this bad for me.

Yes, its just getting worse. Maybe we should all log complaints on hellopeter and see if that gets us anywhere.

Just did a test .. Gaming server to Germany

Telkom ISP : 686 ms
Afrihost : 201 ms

Not good at all.
