OK, so the short version: MTN c@#ked up my data billing once too many times. I'm in the process of switching to DSL...

I managed, through acting like a petulant (albeit well-mannered) child, to get a phone line installed in a little over 4 days. I've ordered the self-install DSL option and I duly stared at the router's sync light the whole day hoping for a miracle...

And...

Would you believe it...

After what felt like an eternity...

Nothing happened. :erm:

Anyone know a Telkom techie I can bribe with a case of beer? ;)

No, not yet. Hey I can't help it if I stood at the back of the queue when patience was being handed out...

You have to register the self install.. silly question..did you do that?

Verify it... erm, yes... only once it's actually up & running at the exchange. Can't very well VERIFY my dsl line before it's linked now, can I?

Thanks though :p

Not going to happen in a day. Give it a few more days - it will probably be up by Tuesday.

Ahem... DSL up 'n running, line syncing at 4096...

This is *officially* my first action on my fresh 30gig Openweb account... Amazingly, it seems Telkom actually does something constructive on Saturdays sometimes.

/Now, anyone care to share how I'm going to get through the remaining 29.9997gig?

I'll share. Please fill in the blanks:

password:--------

:D

Ok, wait... I've got it written down here somewhere...

Erm...

Hey, almost fell for that! :p Seriously, though I was thinking of mentioning the word *newshost* but I don't know if being a member for two years is long enough so I won't run the risk of having all sorts of fire & brimstone unleashed on me...
