Hi guys

I've recenly moved from 3G to DSL (std 384kbps directly from Telkom).

How do I ensure I get peak performance from my connection? I did a self-install as per Telkom instructions. Any settings to change/tweak for better speeds?

The best results from the bandwidth tester on gam.co.za was around 307kbps. Is this normal?

Buy 'n drankie :)

You should be able to get around 320 kbps (well roughly, my downloads usually max out at around or just under 40 kilobytes per second) how to tweak it I don't know :)

Perhaps try the test file on the TelkomSA site, and see where the speed is after say the first 10-20 seconds for a second opinion, link for the file is here. Whatever you do - do not finish the download, it is a useless file :p But it serves a purpose...
