New DSTV installation 2x TVs HD

Hi,

Been searching online but can't find any clear answers on the matter. Was hoping someone could help.
I'm looking into getting DSTV, and would like it to be set up as follows:

1) HD in the lounge. To be split between my HT system and my 43 inch Plasma TV (so can choose whether I want to fire up the whole home theatre, or just watch on the regular Plasma)

2) HD in the bedroom, with the ability to watch a different channel to the lounge.

Can you advise what equipment I would need to get for the above to work?

Thanks a mil! That would solve option 1. However, how would the decoder know when to output 5.1 sound and when to output stereo? Will I have to set that manually every time?

Secondly, how then I do get HD to the bedroom with a different channel? Does the Xtraview do that, or do I need another HD decoder?

You need another hd decoder.

Yes & yes, 2 x HDPVRs in Xtraview would be the best solution.

Thanks, and if I go for SD signal in the bedroom, would I still need the HD decoder if I want PVR?

Yes, you only get HD-PVRs. There is no other sort. Otherwise get a HDD recorder, but not as elegant

Unless you're able to find a used SD PVR on Gumtree or from a friend / relative.

In addition to the 2nd recording environment, this would also give you three viewing environments.
