Hi,

So i set up my dstv last night and all is working perfectly! a few questions though...

1. whats the difference between a normal arial cable and the rg6u cable ?
reason i ask is cos i set up mine with the aerial cable and it's perfect so how would the rg6u enhance my watching pleasure ?

2. i got the compact option for starters, is it worth it to upgrade to the full option ?

3. ok last question, i set up the cable very untidy (just to test it) now that it works i need to extend the cable and position it properly so that it isnt an eyesore, would extending the cable etc mean that i have to call in and set everything up again ?

TIA

There is a trick to watching DSTV, you watch it flat out for a year and then pack it in for four years. The first year is all pretty new and shiny, the next four years are repeats of what you watched the first year :D S'true !

If you like sport (can you say soccer?) it's great but normal programming is pretty average at best.

1) The rg6u cable probably has better signal attenuation for the digital signal that a standard aerial cable.

2) Thats a personal opinion if you want to watch the other channels or not

3) Yes.

1. Normal aerial cable IS RG6U cable. Check your cable... RG6U will probably be printed on the jacket.

2. If you can afford it, yes.

3. No. Once it is activated you don't have to call Multichoice again to activate, even if you disconnect the power and signal.

I'd upgrade to the Normal. DSTV is so full of repeats and ad's though its actually put me off watching it. Had it for 7 years now and it's dreadful. :D
