Hey guys.

We decided to start an online shop and I would like to get some input from you guys.

Can you check it out and tell me what you think. Mostly about usability and styling. Some products etc still needs images but that'll be added as we go along.

Thanks.

looks great
what control is used for the images on the front page?

I suggest you take out kalahari from the places where you copied I guess text from kalahari - like on your shipping and return.
Also payment types accepted should be on front page
but overall looks fine

We used nopCommerce as a base and worked up from there. Will put payment types on the home page :-)

Not too shabby ...

I dislike the name though. It sounds too much like Logitech, but without the snap.

Also you've gone the way of other shops that don't allow comments from the unregistered. I know from experience that people like to know if a product is any good before buying - so reviews are important. Maybe put some links to magazine reviews.

On the registration page, there aren't any indicators saying which fields are mandatory. Name, address etc... Will it reject my form if I don't give you a fax?
There's also no e-mail confirmation block - vital to get that right if you forget your password!

Can buyers collect items or not? Some businesses encourage that, others don't.

What's the link to Kalahari as mentioned in the Shipping notes?

The Conditions of Use mentions weddings and events - did you copy paste from a wedding gift site (lol).

You need to check the text here : http://www.logivect.co.za/aboutus.aspx
(Put up some pictures of your key staff to make it more personal. We want to know about you, not that your company is "fast growing".)

There's detail missing from the Top / Networking / Wireless section (and others) and no pictures to distinguish products. At least add some text like the full model number.

Compare Products does nothing.

A big, ugly checkered box appears here under key features in the TV section. {Text is all in caps which is tiring to the eyes}

Text is not wrapping properly here:

http://www.logivect.co.za/products/1700-lg-32inch-lcd-tv-19-32lv3530.aspx

Delivery to where and how much?

etc etc etc

All in all, I think the site is a bit bland, but not bad for a quick prototype.

Wow, thanks for being thorough Lounger! I appreciate the input! We still have lot's to do on the site :-)

\\makes furious notes to ask Lounger to test my site when I`m done :D

Not sure if I like the background image of the product items on the "new products" page. I understand it inherits the same styles as your regular products, but because the "new products" page items are displayed in grid view instead of list view, the gradient interferes with the text. Making it difficult to read...

I suggest either using a different bg image(maybe no gradient, or gradient only), or changing the product layout to list view instead of grid...

Just my 2c....

You're right, it's supposed to be a list, trying to fix it though. Thanks :-)
