Good evening
I have purchased a new engine and it has been fitted to the car. What it the next step. What is needed on the process of registering the new engine.

Data Dot. Police clearance. Change your ownership forms to new number and probably a road worthy certificate.

Need to get data dot done on the vehicle. Then you take the vehicle (don't forget the data dot paperwork) to any licensing office which has a police clearance section (don't know if all of them have one) - an inspector will check the engine (you need to take the new engine's invoice with, don't forget that).

You then take the clearance paperwork to the licensing section (where you normally do change of ownership, etc) and fill in the relevant forms, you then get a new NATIS document for the car which reflects the new engine number. You will get a new license disc too.

Don't know if things have changed, but when I did it a few years ago, roadworthy was not required.
