I thought I knew my Ferrari's...
Saw a very very new one today it looked unbelievably sexy!!!
I Haven't seen this car anywhere on the web or on email...

It had these LED lights straight down the main headlights! 4 exhausts 2 stacked onto eachother.
Any idea what it is?

California?

It is HOT.

About a year but only seen 1 in ZA.

The California represents a number of firsts for Ferrari:

* The first front engined Ferrari with a V8
* The first to feature a 7-speed dual clutch transmission
* The first with a folding metal roof
* The first with multi-link rear suspension
* The first with direct petrol injection.

That's one big butt. It's the one unfortunate thing about having a folding metal roof; off the top of my head, only the Vdub Eos has been moderately successful in disguising its fat ass...

My favourite looking ferrari's are still the Modena's and 360 Spiders. :/

seen the California a few time in CPT, top down and cruising through Clifton and Camps Bay.
the new one is the 458, and yes, it does look HOT..R3.2 mil you say...hmmmm..not too bad, thought it be more.

yup.
Vdub better looking than Ferrari :erm:

The big back side is part and parcel of the coupe look, take a look at it with the roof on.

Not quite what I said, is it? A single styling element of the Eos is proportionally more in tune with the rest of the car's look than the California in my opinion - that's not quite the same thing.

As an aside, I'm not particularly partial to Ferrari's styling of late. Gimme old-school like the 288GTO or 348; current Ferraris seem over-styled to me. Although the 458 must be one of the prettiest cars ever. This... not so much.

The 288gto always reminds me of a De Tomaso for some reason. They have some nicely styled cars though.

The california never grabbed me as a design... the 458 is MUCH more in tune with what I class as a Ferrari...

Well you said it has a big butt and then as per every other thread bring up a vw and how it has (the best) rear end. That kind of says it is better looking doesn't it? Or are the VW blinkers on again.

Agreed.

That's why I listed the Modena and Spyder 360 as well.

*sigh*

"Every other thread" nogal? Without getting mired down with arbitrary disagreements about mundane VWs in a thread about an exotic car, the Eos was lauded at launch for being moderately successful at disguising an oversized derrière; something that is an inherent issue with folding hard tops. It accomplishes this by having a fiendishly complex 5-piece roof, where most others of the breed (folding hard-top convertibles; I'm not trying to insinuate that the Eos is 'exotic') would make do with 2- or 3-piece designs.

Whether the design as a whole is better looking or not, is moot. Views on car styling are subjective; dig deep enough and you're bound to find people that regard a Renault Vel Satis as pretty...

Anyhat, give me the keys to a California and I'd promptly sell it - that money would buy at least 2, maybe 3 decent Porsches. :D
