New games for July payday!

I always seems to ask this question and get some good replies ... so hopefully this will be the case again.

What new games would you recommend I purchase this weekend when payday arrives.

I have a budget of buying two games.

Thought of getting Alone in the Dark but all the reviews seem to give it poor rating so I do not want to take a chance.

One game I am definitely getting is Lego Indiana Jones for me and my son to play.

The last one I bought was Mass Effect.
 
Lego Indiana Jones is a good choice. I bought Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 recently for my girlfriend and I to play together and it's fun to play together (Maybe you should get these first as they are budget now). She wants me to get Lego Indiana Jones now and she never used to like playing games with me before. I can't wait for Lego Batman.

What format are you playing on: PC, Xbox360, PS3?

Mass Effect will be my next purchase. What is your opinion on it?

Yeah apparently Alone in the dark is a waste money....Mass effect didnt really appeal to me either....I am more of a FPS man anyways, if you like me then COD4 is a winner if you dont have it yet...Other than that I dont know of any decent games out at this point in time.

I have tried Assassins Creed. The repetitive and uninspiring investigations spoils a game that had a lot of potential. I can't bare to keep playing it because of that. I'm not a driving game fan, but I played the demo of GRID and I liked it.
 
Forget Assassins Creed. Full of bugs and an uber simplistic combat system. Mass effect, Spore and SC2 sound interesting.

I thought Mass Effect was great. Sure beat the repetitive nature of Assassins Creed.

I am not into racing games but GRID is a really cool game. How they manage to get it almost true to life, astounds me. The controls are a bit hectic though - best played with gamepad and make sure you configure it for sensitivity.
 
ass-asin creed began cool and got lame later as i played it. i just finished for the sake of finishing it. wot about bourne conspiracy that game looks pretty sick especially the fight scenes i am thinking of buying that next:cool:. i bought ninja gaiden 2 the other day but sadly to say no puzzles so its basically a god of war with no puzzles
 
so maybe grid for xbox and mass effect for my pc

....and guitar hero 3 for me and my gf (been waiting long for it)
