New Gaming Headphones

Howzit guys/gals!

I want to buy new headphones but I'm absolutely clueless as to what would be the best for me. Because you can't test these things at PC shops I want to ask those that know a bit more than me :)
Now the thing is, a few years ago I bought Creative 2.1 speakers and wow was I amazed by the punch and sound quality those little speakers packed! But when it comes to headphones I'm a bit lost. I don't know what brands have stood the test of time with being reliable as well as have good sound quality.

I was wondering what you guys could recommend me, but I do have some requirements:
1) Flexible/adjustable mic
2) Mic/volume control somewhere on the headphones/wire
3) The headphones must go over my head instead of around the back. Those don't work for me and get uncomfortable especially when you wear glasses.
4) 5.1 (Only if possible but really it's not needed)
5) ±R200
6) Used mainly, if not only for Online Gaming

>>THIS<< is pretty much what I'm looking for in terms of what it should be but I have never even heard of Prestigio so I don't know how they are at all. The bloke at the PC shop said his doesn't work any more in the left ear, its just one guy so far but I don't have money to waste so I would rather buy something reliable, even if it costs a bit more.

Go around to your closest Matrix shop they have this one set of FUGLY headsets, but they work like you can't believe!!! They are a cammo colour (although the mic isn't flexi) It is a USB set so the sound is absolutely mind blowing for that price - which is around R200 if I can remember correctly... :)

Lol I have a Matrix Warehouse Computers close to me. What's it called? Please don't tell me it's Zixaa? lol

I think it is Zixaa... ;) But not the ones you listed there.

I switched to Roccat's so can't really remember.

For best value for money go with the ones that Sharkie listed above.
 
Just a note, I am not recommending them. ;)

I know a lot of people don't have the money to spend, but the only set that I would recommend is the Logitech G35s. Ask doobyscoo if I am lying about them. :D

If you wanna be competitive, you must get the best. :p

Those are really comfortable headsets only thing is I’ve gone through 3 of them in as many months.

Using these atm http://www.mecer.co.za/accessories/peripherals (Mecer HS-819USB Headset) not comfortable but very sturdy.
For under R200 it works.

Lol for the price they go for I would hope they are the best! My goodness they are expensive!

That's the problem. Form the outside they look like very good quality headphones, but yeah from what I've heard now, including you, they break quickly :/
 
Oh well I am so glad I am not in your shoes. So many to choose from and so little money...

I f you can muster it go for this but then again it is expensive but trust me when it comes to sound quality and comfort they can't really be beaten...

As far as I know you can not get the headset seperately in SA but I haven't really looked far enough to find out because I wanted the souncard as well...

Is that all that breaks though? Because I would buy it because I managed to fix a crappy ol headset from Okion of which the mic broke off and the right channel went dead. It's fixed now and you won't know it if I didn't tell you. So things like that are possible :)
