So my trusty old G9X has decided to eat a bullet (it scrolls of it's own accord and sometimes plugging it out and back into the usb fixes the problem, but more often than not it doesn't) and I'm in need of a new mouse.

I've been taking a look at the Corsair Vengeance M65, but I'm afraid it might be too gimicky. Other options include the Tt eSports Theron as well as the tried and trusted route of Logitech with the Logitech G500S. What do you guys suggest? I'd prefer getting it at Takealot or Kalahari for some ebucks, but if there is a better deal somewhere else I'd take it.

Take a look at Razers and Steelseries too, awesome mice.

Also have a look at the Sharkoon products. I've got a Drakonia and I've enjoyed it.

I bought a Vengeance M65 last year in November. I loved how it was heavier than my previous mouse (I put in all the provided weights) and also it moved around really smoothly on my mousepad.

However, last week it just stopped working. No lights when I plug it in, even on other PCs. I found on their forums it was a problem other users have had so I'm going to sort out a replacement this week.

But in summary, when working, it was a great mouse. I didn't find it gimmicky; but I hardly ever used the 'sniper' button.

Personally I won't touch Razer products ever again, had 3 Imperators fail within 3 years, first 2 were replaced under warranty, when the 3rd one broke it was out of warranty. They also seem to be overly sensitive to vibrations, it would constantly move ever so slightly when watching a movie and bring up the VLC controls if there was the slightest amount of bass.

I had a Logitech G5 for 5 years before one of the buttons broke. Been using the G500s for around 2 months now and loving it, reminds me of my old G5

I have the Corsair Vengeance M65, brilliant mouse in my opinion. Had the CM Sentinel before that, won't buy CM again.

To add to Grim, the M65 doesn't pickup any sound vibrations etc. Had the same issue with my CM Sentinel.

I've had a Razer DeathAdder for over 2 years now, moderate use, no problems. But each to his own :)

Also have a Logitech Performance Mouse MX that I use for work for a few months and has been brilliant so far - not so sure how well it work for gaming though...

I have been using the Cyborg R.A.T. 7 for 3 years and it still working as good as the first day. I have had far too many failures on Razer products to recommend them.

Forgot about these! They look pretty epic!

Have had a razor, logitech and bought a RAT 5 and then RAT 7. RAT 7 by far the best mouse I have had.

RAT 7 for over two years and no issues.

Lol you know what I mean man, vibrations from bass :)

If the bass is causing your mouse to move due to the vibrations then you need to look at some acoustic treatment for your room.
Chances are you're just pushing your bass to make it audible when it's clearly being felt.

Avoid anything with a Philips twin-eye sensor. That includes the RATs.
Razer DeathAdder is the only Razer to consider, but AFAIK it is way overpriced ATM.
