Anyone have problems with very laggy up/down scrolling in Firefox with the new Gmail interface?

My PC has been off the whole day and just switched it on this evening so that's not it.

Do you have the latest version of FF?
The only other thing I could think of is a slow PC, but gmail doesnt sound like the kind of thing to slow down your browser. What CPU etc do you have?

Yep I got FF 2.0.0.9
My PC is decent, not mindblowingly fast but here's the specs:
AMD Athlon64 3200+ s939
1GB RAM
6800GT
Win XP SP1
The old interface of Gmail works fine, the new one only lags.

I have a similar chip, it does occasionally lag when scrolling flash and large pages with smoothscroll enabled. Try disabling smoothscroll. btw I use Opera but I am pretty sure there's a smoothscroll option in FF too.
Other than that:

A lot of other people are having your problem too.
It sounds more like a display driver fault.. Ever installed a fresh copy of windows and then went online to look for new drivers and the pages are all laggy while scrolling ?
Try updating your graphics card drivers.. My AthlonXP 2200+ / Nvidia 6600 never had a problem like this and iv been using gmail and firefox since the beg of 2005

Ekhaat thanks for that, I don't have any Gmail related extensions installed though.

GMail is really buggy in Opera now. Almost every action results in a "still working..." message and then it doesn't want to do anything else until you reload it. Choosing basic view or older version does nothing except reload the current page. Wish they would just restore the old version and leave the alphas for the testers.
