Disclaimer: I am quite a newbie when it comes to network setup and implementation so please bare with me if I ask any stupid questions.

We are building a new home and I would like some advice regarding the network as it is at that stage of the process.

Few things to consider:

1. I will be using CAT6 cable throughout
2. I want the entire wired network to provide gigabit speeds
3. Modem is an Asus (Which only handles the ADSL connection)
4. Router is an Asus RT-AC66U Dualband Wireless AC1750 Gigabit Router
5. I plan on disabling the WiFi on the router and buying 2 Ubiquiti UniFi Dual Band AC Long Range AP's to handle WiFi
6. I will be using Fibaro - for home automation
7. Server, cabinet, router, modem & switch will all be in the garage.

This is basically what I need in terms of cabling

Questions

1. Do I need a Poe switch if i am using the Ubiquiti UniFi AP?
2. What unmanaged 48 port Gigabit switch would you recommend? (poe or normal depends on answer above)
3. Do I need a patch panel?
With regards to a patch panel, is this required if I want just want to have the cable terminating at these wall boxes CAT6-BOX-2_large.jpg in each room.
Basically I don't want holes and cables coming out of every wall. I want these boxes on the wall whereby I can plug in from there to a device.
4. Are there any better looking wall mount boxes like the above?

What do you guys think about this setup? What would you change? any recommendations?

You can use PoE but it isn't required as you can use a injector or AC power depending on the location of the unit. Budget determined.
I like HP Procurve due to the CLI but you want unmanaged so any decent brand that you can afford.
If you have a fair amount of Ethernet coming in it is advisable to use a patch panel as its much easier to manage and they are cheap - make sure you go for a Cat6 patch panel.
I like these wall boxes - https://www.google.co.za/url?sa=i&r...92G2d0ePQx0O2ou55fDhW1LA&ust=1454491937699160

The access points will be mounted to the ceiling (middle of the house on each floor)
Any idea where I can find those in SA?
They look much better

The ubiquiti AP's come with their own PoE injectors.

Most of the Ubiquiti stuff doesnt actually use normal 48V 802.11af PoE and is hence incompatible with many standard PoE swithes

Poke scoop distribution.

They can supply the server cabinets, cable, ubiquiti product (including ubiquiti poe switches). Everything networking except the actual server.
