New host / reseller account needed

Hi guys :)

I am currently with Elitehost but looking to move for several reasons. I am a web designer & social media manager. Many of my clients don't have an existing domain / hosting / email, which I setup on their behalf and charge monthly. None of them actually request the cPanel login details. Essentially I am managing the whole thing.

Right now I am on an Elitehost reseller account that I'm unhappy with. I have about 25 parked domains, 15 active domain / sites that collectively take up about 10 - 12GB space at the moment. Bandwidth usage is pretty low. A new host with cPanel is a huge plus. Being able to register co.za domains is great too. I used to be with Hetzner, but no cPanel and price was a bit of a turn off (albeit good service).

Can anyone recommend another host for me to try out? Budget is about R400/pm.

I wish I could recommend Web Crew, but they don't offer any reseller packages that I'm aware of. Guess since they're using cPanel software they could. Maybe chat to them directly and negotiate a good deal?

Anyway, if you're not keen on that then go Hostking. Hands down. Ample doesn't always know what they're doing (I think there's a few competent guys that are basically walking manuals for the others) and their performance is on par with Hostking - obviously minus the good support. My experience with Elitehost wasn't all that good. Their team is competent, but their performance wasn't that great in my experience. Granted, I was with them before they made their upgrades so I don't know about now.

@squirrel - I take it you don't want to share the reasons as to why you're unhappy with Elitehost? I'm with them - also with a reseller package - and everything is going great. Setting up accounts and purchasing domains is simple and straight-forward, and there have been no hiccups so far (except for the DDoS attacks earlier in the year).

For the most part, I've had a great experience. However, here and there I've had several issues. I also feel the service I received at Hetzner (when I was with them) was better. This week a client of mine is complaining their emails sometimes don't send/receive and have put the blame on me (or 'the host I'm using'). As a result I had to move them to Hetzner on their own package. They were my biggest client (took up half my reseller package actually lol) so now I'm looking at alternatives.
 
I generally don't link my web hosting with email hosting. For my clients I supply email through Rackspace or Google Mail. Rackspace is $1 per POP account with unlimited aliases, bit on the expensive side, but also had 0 problems with "my email is slow and/or doesn't get sent and/or is blocked because the mail server is marked as a spammer"

Sitting here with the same problem. Trying to choose between Elitehost and Domains.co.za

Leaning heavily towards domains.co.za, but they have no good package between their 5Gb package, which is way too small, and their next step up, which is completely overkill. Don't understand the huge gap between their smallest and next package in line.

Hi,

We changed our packages when we started with our new reseller hosting infrastructure in Teraco which uses the Samsung SM863 1.92TB Enterprise SSD's at R21 000 a hard drive.
