I am sitting with an idea in my head of a product that I think has big market potential.

What I don't know, is how to get the idea into a physical product (patents, prototypes, initial market etc). I have done a few searches, but the information is very general.

Any advice will be appreciated, thank you.

The question is incredibly general, I'm not sure it could possibly garner more than very general information...

Do you have the skills to make a prototype? If so, then personally I'd start by actually making one.
If it's more of an "ooh, ooh, imagine a beer fetching drone" but you don't know the first thing about drones then it's probably not gonna happen, unless you either have lots of money or the will to spend months/years researching/learning drone building.

I really don't think a place exists that literally takes your idea and produces a product for you, unless you have a ton of money to throw at it, but if that were the case I'd imagine you'd have a lot of contacts already. IMHO ideas are the easy part, I have lots of ideas, if there was an easy way to market them all I'm pretty sure I'd be a millionaire. I really don't mean to sound like one of those "put everyone down" people so I hope I'm not coming across like that, but I really doubt you will get much useful advice with such a simple question.
