Hi guys. Just wanted to tell you how hard it is to upgrade to an iPhone on Cellc through Nashua. My dad was on a Talk 500 contract from Vodacom with a Blackberry and wanted to upgrade to an iPhone. Cellc's deals for the iPhone seemed very competitive and so he had to do a port. On the 8th of August he went to Nashua Brooklyn and they gave him the iPhone and the micro-sim and told him the port would be done on the night of the 17th. Okay, now on the morning of the 18th he switched on the iPhone with the Cellc micro-sim in, and it kept says it was searching for service. So my dad switched on his Blackberry with the Vodacom sim in and it worked, my dad could still use BIS
and people could still call him. But then after a while when people tried calling him it went directly to a Cellc voicemail while he was using the vodacom sim card. Then BIS and SMS's stop working and nobody could reach him, being a problem since he runs his own business. He called Nashua and they said the port went through and the iPhone should be working. But it didn't since the iPhone wasn't picking up any network and he couldn't activate it. This morning he went to Nashua Brooklyn again to sort it out. But then the SAME PERSON that gave my dad the iPhone on the 8th said that the firmware wasn't correctly loaded and (after a few phone calls Nashua did) the micro-sim wasn't compatible with the iPhone. He was then also told they didn't have any compatible micro-sims available and should come back.
I don't understand how that working. The sim Nashua gave him wasn't compatible. Doesn't the people at such stores get training to help out customers with the correct information and that such things doesn't happen???
It would be appreciated if somebody could shed some light on this. Thanks
