Last year it was toward the end of October. Expect a similar timeline if not a bit earlier...

Realistically Nov/Dec - they start coming in slowly at first though. Good luck getting one, hose things don't even make the shelves. January/Feb is when most of the stock arrives.

With the exchange rate, I'd hate to see what the price is now.

Not true. South Africa received the iPhone 6 three weeks after the US release date last year. They were readily available from the release date.
