ANyway with SAOL increasing the price of their ADSL 10GB service from R350 to R500 its time for me to look around, or flail around desperately for a new account/service ...

So any ideas ?
I have been looking at Openweb and some of there offerings, is openweb any good, will I be able to play games and do what need to be done without "any" hassle ?
OR
get a 5GB account ( yay )
OR
Get a telkom account and a Random 1GB account, use telkom and hope I dont get capped, and if I do use the Random 1GB account ( double yack yay )
OR
ARe there really any other alternatives ?
 
to be honest!

the best would be..........

get an is account from MRBeep (openweb) get the 2IS/30 its like R160 odd.

then get an SAIX account from cyberweb, 3GB, the cost depends on your dsl line.

This way, you can use saix during the day, and IS at night!
 
At last check I've seen over 400 diffrent ISP plans from over 50 companies. There are a few more out there. With SNO, even more will resell.

Cheapest is XDSL with their 1GB account.
Cybersmart on a 192Line for a 3GB account.

As far as forum suggestions, you will see them split mainly between these four (In alphabetical order only):

1) Nukecap
2) OpenWeb
3) SAOL
4) Web Africa
 
my friend has it. they pretty decent but are really only gonna give you speeds slightly higher than 192k. He gets max speeds of 30k ocassionally.

Its great for your spare account incase of being capped
 
Bit annoyed with SAOL, e-mailed them to cancel, they e-mail back telling me I must give a calender months notice, and when I queried they said it was mentioned in the E-mail, what E-mail I did not get an e-mail, I got the info off their site, I even checked my deleted mail, not deleted since about a month ago and no such mail there, so basically i had no choice but to drop to 5GB account, even though I just want to cancel and now I am not going back once cancelled :(
 
Is SAOL following the same path as Axxess? It seems they are going down the drain aswell.
 
Think that OpenWeb has got local ADSL access included in the package. Mr Beep didn't send me any login credentials though....
 
How bout an 30gb allucaneat account?

it's 30 gb's and about 150 bucks more than what you would b paying for the 10gb account.

Please PM me your username and I will arrange an immediate cancellation - the only reason you wouldn't have received email notification is if your email address is incorrect on our system.

SOAL sends the notifications to your SAOL email account (at least they did in my case.... I had never accessed this email address untill they told me the mail was ther when I complained about not receiving it).
 
I'm currently with cybersmart and have a 384 line, I get good speeds and so far they've been very good and helpfull to me. As for your freiend not getting higher than 30K Freeek, if he's on 192, he shouldn't be getting that high anyway ;P
