Hello :)

I know this gets ask alot.

However I have a slightly different request:

I want to try a new ISP for a venture of mine

Monthly average usage over a 12 months test is 85Gb

What I want is a reliable product the support from the ISP is not a issue because if the product can deliver a constant reliable connection and 85-90GB then support won't be needed.

Okey, but here comes the actual request:

The package has to incl something either a "free" modem etc etc.

free router, will most likely have to get a contract and with a ISP its not a good idea
https://www.webafrica.co.za/home/adsl/
best option for you
the one from 120-180gb will work nice
still have alot of data for u to use in the day
and alot of data u can use after 12,
and it range from R150-200 pm

for a router, you can get alot cheaper,if u buy one and not get it wiht the isp

it may be cheaper now,but if u add it up,you still pay for it and even more (if u get it free and have to sign a contract)

cheap one

Thanks man :)

How is Axxess vs WA

If I go Axxes I think I will take the 75+75 for a start.

WA ... All that normal cap, business cap etc

I just want straight normal for this specific one.

Fox FAT Pipe vs Fat pipe for business does anyone have experience with this?

Looking at the 150GB cap

axxess use MTN,
never used axxess, but there almost the same as afrihost, there cap is ok,but there international speeds can sometimes be bit on the slow side, and have probs esp in the south, can read feedback threads to get a idea of the isp

from what i heard,Fox fat pipe is very good, but it cost alot

the WA home cap works good, there not really a need for business, but if moneys not a problem, and u want great Quality

FOX fatpipe or WA busness cap will work great :)

Vox Fatpipe works damn well. I'd recommend it. Not familiar with WA Business Cap.

Rather buy yourself a modem cash. Doesn't tie you in to a contract with an ISP and you can move if you don't feel you are happy.

Most ISP's offer trial accounts nowadays, so that may be an option to look at?

Remember also, the ISP is one moving component of the machine... the other is Telkom and their network, including the exchange and the capacity at it...

Thanks for all the feedback

Im looking at either axxess due to double data.

The wa looks appealing but i hate the different levels.

Normal cap, business cap etc

Vox ... I want to go Vox. Especially for the role over.

How is Vox Cap AUP ?

Thanks for all the feedback

WA Home capped only shaped p2p during the day. So will probably be fine for you.

Thats brilliant ! Since this will be a pure office line no p2p traffic at all.

Teamviewer and VIOP is however very important.

i think teamviewer is P2P right?

Yes, but when ISPs say p2p will be shaped they mean torrents. Teamviewer/skype get high priority even though they are technically p2p and news servers get also shaped and count as p2p even though it technically isn't.

Its a little more complicated the "server center" is running its business critical no downtime can happen otherwise clients can't receive orders etc.

We have two fail safe lines running atm since primary two is dead (dankie telkom)

So changing isp accounts quickly is a bit of a hassle my idea was to let everyone now. Planned maintenance systems will be down and then chance all the accounts on the Mikrotik badboys etc.

I might try the free account at home and try to TW in to the office

U do realise that Axxess is like the sister company to Afrihost? So the current issues and debates around AH+ has a good chance of migrating to Axxess, so keep that in mind

Axxess bandwidth has been much better than AH bandwidth lately.

And AH+ is actually decent for what you get.

Agree with Chevron, I've been running a 30+30 axxess capped account as a backup for while and it performs well with none of the AH problems reported here on MyBB.

AH + is descend but I don't use any of those services.... So bleh..

It's between VOX and Web Africa now.

Teamviewer is a must

Axxess has less users than AH does, and IMHO, AH+ value is dependent on what package you want to get. If you on a 100GB capped account then great, another 100GB for R99, but if you on a 10GB or 20GB account, not really worth the R99 per month... but thats a separate debate...

I can tell you that Team Viewer works well on Axxess. I use it at some of my clients, and it works perfectly fine on both capped and uncapped accounts. No issues.

Chevron was right in saying that torrents and news servers are shaped and not real time services like teamviewer, voip, skype etc...

I'll be honest, VOX's support isn't that great at times, but in terms of value, they are, for me, the better of the two. That being said, their quality is high enough that you don't need to make support calls often or at all for that matter.

Teamviewer is a must

Edit: You won't have issues with this on VOX
