Hi Guys

Ok, so I made a turn at Kia on Saturday. test drove and fell completely in love with the new Rio!!

What do you guys think of it, R169 000 for the top of the line model including leather seats, rain sensor, fog sensor lol everything!! even has some memory that you can store phone numbers on for use of the built in bluetooth!

1.4 79Kw
5 year guarentee and 4 year service plan.
I really think I am buying it, what to you think?

nice, i saw it at the JHB motor show, liked it.

hmmm for me at that price range it would be between the 1.6 Accent and the 1.6 i20

although the leather seats, bluetooth etc prob make up the difference, although i hate leatherseats in a car, way over rated.
 
would rather take the rio over the i20 anyday
 
It's a good buy for sure. Looking to trade in my 1.4l i20 next year, but need to get an automatic. If there was a 1.6l Rio with 6 speed auto, I would've got the Rio, but loos like I'm gonna have to go for a Cerato hatch... maybe the 2.0l :D

The girlfriend has an I20 so I would rather not buy the same car... the accent is FUGLY imo, oja and the Rio is a 6speed manual as well not 5 speed like the I20.

I really like the I20 but the built quality on the Rio is really amazing and it's just a more updated car than the I20.

as for the 6 speed, that sounds great, would dig to go drive one and feel it.

and yes i agree on the fact of being updated, need to go check the models.
 
Nope, no local news, although CAR magazine did feature an ad of this on the back cover and in the Model Updates the Chevrolet Sonic is listed as imminent. We should we getting it with the 1.4 74kw engine as found in the Corsa as well as the 1.6 (sans turbo) and the 1.3 CDTi as featured in the original Corsa line up.

Damn, was looking forward to the 1.4 turbo.
 
Only GM product with that right now is the Astra, and its a whole whack of cash more pricey than the Sonic :-(
 
I love the Rio and it looks amazing. I would not even think twice about buying it. A great lil car. Looks really funky.
 
If I had R30k more I would have gone for these without blinking ... but I am happy with my 08 Honda Civic :)
 
test drove one today, a 1.4 auto tech, exterior and interior are superb, and equipment and finish are awesome, however, 4 speed automatic is a bit of a joke to me for SA road.....not really suitable if you drive far everyday. 5 speed manual is recommended.

Hope, but i doubt that we gonna get what first world is getting, 1.6 version, 6 speed auto, and diesel too, oh and stop and start technology.

Very nice car.. was worried it was getting too close to my Cerato in terms of features etc but way cheaper.. until I saw the drum brakes and only dual airbags etc.
