Hey guys

Need some help buying a new laptop.
Its for my aunt - shell be using it for basic applications, ms office, e-mail and the sort. Microsoft powerpoint will be used extensively as well.

Speed, numeric keypad, and screen size are of importance.

Ive been looking around and cant seem to find something more worthwhile than this: http://www.incredible.co.za/ProductDescription.aspx?SKU=81719

I realise its from Incredible Connection, which is not really a place I choose to shop at, but this seems a good deal?
MS office is on sale for R500 there as well, and outlook will set her back a further R1300.

It seems to have the latest CPU, a fair amount of RAM and a decent HDD. The only thing I could think to better it would be to have an SSD?

In essence - is this a good deal?? Do you know of any better deals? Any feedback welcome!

I just bought my wife the Lenovo Essential B570 on the weekend at Computer Mania for R4500.

core i3 2350M
4GB ram
500GB HDD
15" LED Screen
Fullsize keyboard + numpad

So far it seems pretty fast and stable, although she has only had it for a couple days.

If you can afford it, go for the graphics, it's worth it. Core i7 would be an overkill for the intended purpose.
Core i3/i5, 4GB ram 500GB HD, 1 or 2GB graphics card, Win 7 Home premium 64bit, should do
You can get a suitable laptop for half that price (about 5-6.5K).
Spend the rest on software
Try Chaos computers http://www.chaoscomputers.co.za/
PS. Try and get 17 inch screen

This should be more than capable for the requirements you've listed. IC have also had a similar spec Lenovo on sale at R3999 so shop around.
