New laptop choices..

Ok, i know there are a few threads about this and i have read a few of them, but i am rather confused still as to what laptop i should get... and the pricing of some of the laptops..

I am looking for a laptop with about 15" screen, i5 (for bit of future proofing), gfx card for gaming (not fps, more strategy/sim type games) and min 2-4 gig of ram. My budget is about 10k max.... I will only really be using the laptop when i go away from home for work, so i dont wanna spend too much on it.

There are a few specials there... the 17" HP dv7 looks very good.. but why is there such a huge mark down? I could not find that laptop on HP SA website either.

I see there a alot of laptops in the 7-10k range in general, but I have no clue what to get... Should i go for that HP, or get something else?
 
That HP DV7 for R10k is really good value for money, but it is quite a lot to spend on a laptop.

The Lenovo Y560 is also a fairly good gaming laptop. Just remember that there are quite a lot of different Y560P models available, ranging from i3 to i7.

I am still a bit wary of any HP DVxxx model after the recent graphics failure fiasco. They all seem to die after a year or two...

One popular review said the DV7 had an "irritating trackpad". Maybe also consider a Samsung R780. It has a nice graphics card and PC Pro magazine seemed to like it. i5 with Blueray (but only 720p).

There's also an i5 Packard Bell Notebook TM87 460M at Incredibles for R7999. i5 460M/4gig/500HDD/Nvidia GT420M 1G and Win Home Premium.
