Recently moved and after being told it would be a couple days, it has now been more than 2 weeks without anything happening. I phone and get told 48 hours, over and over. They've charged the fee already too .... how the hell is it possible to get charged for something that hasn't been done

Not really expecting anything to come from this, just needed to vent :(

Mine took 3 weeks, then when I called they said I don't have infrastructure so I cancelled the order. A week after they delivered a wireless router with the 10GB + 10GB package I already have... had to turn back the delivery guys with the router.

Hellkom

Just keep trying, I struggled about 7 months with Telkom just to get a line installed, Its been done now and already got ADSL. Now I'm just waiting for dsl line activation to happen. so just keep trying even if it has to be for 7 months

I'm waiting 1 month now - moved premises, applied for transfer of service

3 weeks now so I phoned and there is suddenly no record of my request! What the actual hell

Really hope its not going to be longer, I'm 3 weeks into not earning any money thanks to telskum.

It happens, I had several installation dates missed and then later told my order was cancelled just to find out when I track it that it is still "executing", try their facebook page, that is how I got stuff to start happening

Got hold of local higher up and it seemed very on the ball and was told its been marked urgent and whatnot and here I sit, still nothing. I give up.

My place is 10m away from an existing line and 15m from a pole but I get told a pole will have to be requested on the road. One month of waiting and this is what I now get told

It's an excuse to not have to do any real work ..... dressed up to the nines with fancy shoes and not even a ladder on the van, he's deffo the type to shy away from graft

Morning Mephisto_Helix, I hope they are able to assist you soon.

Is there an active Telkom post paid telephone line at the new premises?

After all the nagging I finally got mine installed on Friday.

Mephisto_Helix - I suggest you call the technician manager for your area

PM me if you need the number

I ranted and swore telkom on twitter and a few days later they were out to sort my line. This after waiting 3 months for any response

@ everyone who replied -

I threw a song and dance and it seemed to have worked, he called someone else for assistance. Maybe it had something to do with me not letting him out the property, lol :D Anyway, holding thumbs that it will be up and running and stable in a while.

If income is dependent on connectivity, get a pay as you go 3g connection.
... the cost would be massive and the reception here is spotty at best, so really glad the ADSL is going ahead.

+1

Making a scene always works with Telkom

Well it's finally installed. Haven't tested as yet (gotta move the PC back and it's a distance and I'm feeling lazy, lol) but hopefully it's smooth and working lekker.

Beeg thanks to the behind the scenes people who were all involved, they know who they are. I owe cheesecakes :)

Good to hear MH!

I am in the same boat as you now, moving into my new place in the next month or two, trying to find what to sort out but its the first time I'm doing all this myself.
