It seems like they have not found a decent way to actually infect a Linux machine with it yet, and the sales agent for the trojan suggested using email and social engineering as the infection vector.

Avast itself is an unsafe application laced with spybots & nasties that peep at you when you're showering. As they have been "exposed" as carrying malware/spyware in by the back door, do you trust them when they say something?
