Hi guys.

I've started a new local android website. I want to make it a nice community site with all sorts of information, and most importantly stuff relevant to Android users in SA because we always seem to be left to our own devices in SA :P

The site is brand new, so there are no posts / articles or anything as yet, but I could use your guys help because I don't have much time to add stuff :(

If any of you want to help with adding articles and stuff, send me a PM and I'll give you access details for the drupal.

Also, anyone wanna be a mod for the forums :P

When ever you guys have a question about Android, ask it there as well ... as with every forum, initial uptake will be slow, but I'll try help you out if I can and I'm sure slowly we can build a community to assist each other :)

Also, if there is anyone that knows how to theme and work properly with Drupal or SMF Forums and you are happy to help, please PM me because I'm still new to these systems and I need help. I can't afford developers as this is a free site I created just to help out ... I'll probably fund it with some google adwords to cover hosting and future development if necessary.

The website is www.androidza.co.za ... let me know what you guys think ... and point me to any articles you think I should include there :) (It's still in very early beta stages ;) )

Regards

Itai

Very nice idea, I'll sign up on the morrow!

Sweet :D ... and as time goes on, point your friends with Android to it too ... I know its not much now, but it will be. The first article I will create will be recommended apps and games on the limited android market we have :P

By the way guys, if you have any requests for the website, let me know :)

So I now have 4 articles on the site ... woo hoo :P ... 2 created by me (1 is just an intro), and 2 with links to the source. Will get bigger as time goes on ... anyone want to assist with adding content :)

Will do some research into it when I get the time, but I know on my phone (Magic) to flash a ROM a have to flash the SPL because mine is perfected, so perhaps yours is the same ... although flashing the SPL can be risky.

Thanks bud ... by the way, what do you guys think of my design attempt so far ... still want to change things like the icons on the side, but my graphic design skills doesn't work to well :P

ordered my HTC. should be here tomorrow. Nice to see there will be some local guys to talk to for help. Perhaps someone could take all the info they have posted about rooting and stuff and place it in one simple document.

I plan to try do something like this ... but the problem is each build has it's own issues which is where all the problems come in. But at least I know for example that all HTC Magic's bought through Vodacom with the HTC Market patch applied have a perfect SPL which needs to be unlocked first ... so I can make a generic one for us, but as I say, each phone has their own.

I signed up on your websites and waiting for my Samsung Galaxy Spica to arrive soon.
