New m.2 ssd with an old desktop

Hi!
I saw this m.2 ssd on special ,
TS256GMTS400 - TRANSCEND 256GB M.2 2242 MLC SATA3
and decided to get it with HYPER M2X4 MINI - Asus Hyper M.2 X4- pcie 4x

as my old desktop does not support M.2 SSD.
but i can't seem to get it to work :-(

MTS400, MTS600 and MTS800 only support SATA III interface. Transcend does not have any SSD products that support PCle for now.

does it mean it wont work?

From the specifications of the HYPER M2X4 MINI:
1 x M.2 x4 Socket 3 with vertical M Key design, type 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 storage devices support(Support PCIE SSD only)

You have a SATA 3 M.2 drive, so it won't work.
