New Macbooks etc.

So it's finally been confirmed for the 27th...

Wonder if the Mac Pro will get some loving? And the Mac Mini?
Without doubt the Macbook Pro. The current model is so outdated.

Will see if they are brave and go all USB C including power adapter.

I suspect they'll can the Mac Mini.

Maybe even see an iMac Pro?

Losing the Mac Mini would be a mistake. It's the most affordable Mac desktop by far. Last time I skimmed through the desktop gallery thread on Mac Rumors there was a large number of Mac Mini setups.

Honestly, basically all the Macs need refreshing. The only thing that isn't terrible right now is the MacBook. Mac Pro, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini and iMac all desperately need updated hardware.

It's not really that cheap once you add the keyboard and mouse and a screen.

It's for people who want to "test" Apple coming from a PC background.

The sales would indicate there aren't many of those, or they just go all in and get a Macbook or iMac instead.

Reusing the same screen, mouse and keyboard is one of its pros. Nothing to do with testing Apple.

And the Mac Mini?
Wish they would. They haven't released a decent one since 2012, and it is their best desktop option.

I'm about to purchase a MBP and holding off till this launch to see what's what. Can't believe I'm saying this but if the new MBP is USBC only like the MacBook, then I'll take the current one thank you very much, I don't have R5000 extra lying around to spend on adaptors.
I can see the Pro community really throwing their toys if Apple goes single USBC only on the new MBP's.

I can't really see myself getting a machine with less ports than on the current Retina MBP, sure put a USBC on there, but it must still at least have 1 USB3 and then also thunderbolt.

Roomers of the iMac Pro is very interesting, but then there's also the roomers of a 5k display with built in GPU, it will be one or the other except if they do a iMac Pro and still keep the Mac Pro line as well.

Yes and then they decide they like it and buy the Apple stuff.

Or because it's a rubbish experience without the Apple stuff they move way which is also had business for Apple.

There is a reason it doesn't sell.

It's a nice idea but people obviously aren't ga ga for it.

I have the option of moving to MacBook Pro, but chances are I won't be able to use my beloved Logitech M705 + unifying receiver, nor plug in a flash drive.....

I got one of these:

Kingston 32GB USB 3.1 USB Type-C

When you get a MacBook Pro, learn to use the trackpad. Once you get used to all the gestures, especially the 3/4 finger swipe between desktops, 3 finger drag etc, you'll forget about your mouse.

Either kill it or give it Retina as well.

Or FINALLY make the iPad + OSX hybrid. I wish...

I think they'll kill the Air, roomers have been going for quite a while now that the 12 inch MacBook will eventually replace the Air. Plus I think 3 laptop lines is too much since there's very little difference between the Air and the MacBook 12.

Images of New MacBook Pro With Magic Toolbar Leaked in macOS Sierra 10.12.1

macOS Sierra 10.12.1, released yesterday, includes hidden Apple Pay images that depict the brand new MacBook Pro with an OLED touch panel that's set to be announced by Apple on Thursday, October 27.

In addition to confirming that such a product is in the works, the images give us our first full look at the redesigned MacBook Pro ahead of its launch. An OLED touch panel is located on top of the keyboard, where the function keys would normally be placed, and it very clearly supports Touch ID, as it is seen used with Apple Pay.
