For those who dont know..

I was having a bad network day. Call the centre. Got peeved because nobody could help. They then put me through to this guy Sean Green. This guy is the Operations manager. He help me out in a flash, gave me his cell no and direct number and guess what.........

It was not even a iburst problem.

My hat is off in shame.

Thank you for the help Sean..

I asked if i could post his numbers on the forum, reply "Once we have launched, i will post it myself."

He was not shy to help. this guy was cool as ice. He was interupted about 30 times in our 10 min conversation, however the knowledge of the man was impressive.

Good move WBS.

Maybe this guy will sort out the mess. :D

Starting with the authentication server. Grrrrr. I'm now on MWEB ISDN 64k because this same old problem has re-occured. And it seems to be the exact same day and time of the week. Again too late to phone the helpdesk.

Thats the 2nd post I have seen complementing Sean Green, can one man save the day? I hope so.

As for the blasted Authentication Server  Well I am back on Sentech for now. Iburst went down at about 9pm last night, spoke to the Call Centre twice last night, they were "working" on it.

Hope I am wrong in saying that it will be standard WBS turn around of 4 days before things are resolved.

Authentication Server

Obviously a single point of failure for the entire iBurst network that desperately needs some redundancy. Died around 21:00 yesterday (kuberkoos's smokeping managed to survive until 22:30) and then back in operation around 08:00 today (kuberkoos's smokeping came back online at 08:20).
