Hi all, I am considering buying the CX-5 2.0 Individual Auto. It would appreciated if any owner can share their real life experiences and fuel consumption.

Thanks

The 2.2 diesel is the one to go for! Absolutely amazing power delivery and refinement. When we test drove the 2.0 it felt like you really had to work the engine to get somewhere.
But the car is very reliable and had no issues whatsoever

Get the diesel please. Perfect power for the car. Also petrol will be R16/L soon. You don’t wanna be driving a naturally aspirated engine in an SUV when that happens.

Get the diesel

Diesel's have turbo's - and from my experience they like breaking (regardless of brand).

Also they're being banned slowly but surely. How long before they're banned here?

The car is new and under warranty. Mazda has a very long warranty.

Also South Africa isn’t really investing anything towards electric cars etc. so believe me when I say we are going to have diesel cars for a very long time here. We are not Europe. We are old age South Africa.

OP get the diesel. The petrol will put a dent in your pocket. You will hate driving that car.

Honestly anyone who buys a naturally aspirated SUV should get themselves checked. Those things are underpowered and thirsty.

An exception will be made for the cruiser V8 petrol LC200
