New Mini Cooper hybrid unveiled

These plug in hybrids are definitely a good answer and compromise between short range electric cars and the flexibility of petrol's unlimited range. They still offer the petrol engine driving sensation, sound etc. without the pitfalls of crazy expensive development for new emissions regulations. We might get to keep our V10's and V8's and V6's because of this compromise.

They really need to get the price down to almost the same as just a petrol car to make sense though.

I for one would almost never need to drive more than 40km during the work week.

I agree,I drive about 10km to work and 10km back a day, this would be perfect for me while ensuring that if I need to drive further I am free to do so without stress. Can even be used on weekends for longer trips etc.
