New mobo

The mobo is supposed to come with a custom metal grid thingy that fits into that square hole. Maybe try to contact the dude from whom you bought it?

Not much apart from the fact that you don't want to stick stuff like USB drives etc through gaps as that could possibly cause a short...

I would ask around for one in the classifieds if you cannot get the plate from the previous owner for some reason.
