Also don't hope so. I can upgrade atm but was waiting for the CPA to kick in before signing anything new. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

I'm kind off stressing as I'm still in school and I've got so much I want to do (with $).

The providers will probably stop giving free phones with contracts to protect themselves... That will suck.

I'd also be interested in seeing this. Wondering if MTN is holding out until April 1 so CPA is in effect so they can say "Sorry, we're not giving out phones anymore"... Or not.

Remember that the iPhone 5 isn't too far away (in the States at least). But then again, if you wait for the next BIG thing, you'll never get anything...

its best to get the new iPhone within 4months of release, apple tends to release the new iPhone/iPad in 12month cycles. same goes for other cellphone companies (not counting HTC, they release a new phone every day)

like the desire hd was released October, and by December it was in SA, so you can expect a 2-3month waiting time from worldwide release to local availability

Likewise with me. My Vodacom contract finished a month ago and waiting for another 6 months instead of upgrading left me stuck. Vodacom's specials on phones are weak to say the least, so will be porting to them.
